if you're lookin for an induction kit, get a bmc cda twin cone filter. you can't beat 'em. magnex or supersprint exhaust if you're lookin for power gains

The plans for my wife's Sporting are a K&N 57i or similar and perhaps a "universal" type back box with a de-cat. The only thing I'm wondering about is what the big black resonator thingy on the Sporting actually does. I also quite fancy having a go at fabricating some sort of cold air box/heatshield.
I'm going to write to the Oxford English dictionary to get the definition of universal changed to "means to fit NOTHING properly"

how much is the BCM cda twin cone filter?? seen the supersprint exhaust on there site any idea on how loud it is?? whats the magnex one? thinkin i might jus end up with another powerflow but have it a wee bit quieter than my cinq one was

You can't get a magnex for the sporting. Supersprint is quite loud. Go for Janspeed if you want a fairly quieter one.

Have a look in the online shop here. They sell loads of good stuff. Quite cheap too.

could've swore i saw a black sporting with a magnex the other day. it's the dtm style tailpipe, eh?
mikey- supersprints aint all that loud. got a nice burble to it tho and a bmc would cost you in the region of £200-£250 i think. are these not what a few peeps on the cinq owners site use?

yeah alot of the cinq owners have them although you can make your own one like i did for about half the price!!! found that BMC one for £150 off of the site that D4V2K1 suggested, heard of people fittin the magnex for the GT's on the sporting usin a reducing pipe, ment to be really loud tho and definitly dont want that again just want a nice note to it, looks like it might be a powerflow job :?

The black resonator is basically just there to quiten the noice of the air intake on the standard system. Its also what gives the car a tiny wee growl when you hit the accelerator.
if you want to keep your car quiet, keep that on, and find a way of attaching the K&N to it...as the noise from a K&N is loud...and scary!
If you are removing the resonator, you will need a heat shield because the filter sits way back in the engine bay!
