Hi

Just wondered if anybody could give me some information regarding my Punto Mk2 exhaust, the silencer (or what i presume is the silencer as my car now sounds like a rally car) has broken.

Looked under her this afternoon and at the front just behind the engine i can see where my exhaust has broken, it is just behind what I can only describe as a mesh section.

Was wondering if anybody knew how many sections the Punto exhaust comes in or how much roughly it is goin to cost to repair,

as always any information would be greatly appreciated people :-)

Ok had a look on the internet and found an image of the part i "Think" I require although i could only find a picture of the mk1 version. I have circled the part which has rusted/broken.

Any more ideas?

Thats the flexi downpipe from the manifold to the cat. A common failure on punto's. A good bet would be £60-£100 depending where you get it and what make.

Its not worth messing about doing it yourself imo. Take it to a garage, they'll prob need to heat it up to get it off.

Im taking her into my dads work tomorrow to get her up om the ramps, easier to do anything when u can see what goin on. Hopefully one of the mechanics will be able to loosen off the bolts (and those bloody rubber grips)
