Hi,

I know this is a bity of a daft question but i was wondering if anybody can help me, i recently got some sports bumpers for my mk2 (still need to get them fitted n sprayed) but the black sections have been (for some reason ... i dunno why) painted white, i have removed some of the paint but its taking me forever with a steam machine I used to take off wallpaper.

I need to get off all the white paint so its clean before i take it to the bodyshop in a week or two but wondered if anybody knew what would just take the paint off without all this hard work?

Cheers if you have any ideas guys cause my arms hurting from scrubbing the back bumper never mind starting the front.

Are they new or used bumpers? Is it paint or primer you trying to get off?

they are used bumpers, its just paint, theres no primer - when i use the steam machine it takes it off but its taking forever and im losing my patience. Just wondered if there was anything icould use to make it come off easier?

Cheers

i think paint stripper might wreck the plastic :? ??????

why not just colour code them fully?

I am fully coding them anyways, its just that half the paint had came off due to rain n stuff, didnt want to get that painted over incase it peeled or was uneven or something

And i though paint stripper would ruin it also, so i pour some meth on it to no avail, that was more through anger than sensible thinking though

Rub them down with some wet/dry. Personally i'd leave it for the bodyshop to save the hassel tbh. :)

Its a really fine rubbing paper you use to get an extremely smooth finish.

The higher the grade, the smoother it will be iirc

It works best when the papers wet
